This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

What I love most about my students is their curiosity, resilience, and the joy they bring to learning every day. They are eager to take on challenges and grow not just academically, but also as responsible, thoughtful individuals. They thrive when learning is hands-on and connected to real life, which is exactly what our classroom economy project offers.

The items students can buy—such as school supplies, small toys, privileges, or classroom coupons—will motivate them to practice essential life skills like counting money, budgeting wisely, and making thoughtful choices.

Paying rent for their desks, managing fines, and saving for items they want will teach them responsibility and the value of earning and saving. These resources will support a meaningful, engaging environment where students learn financial literacy, accountability, and self-management—all while having fun and building confidence.
