This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am passionate about providing my students with opportunities to build money related skills to help prepare them for semi-independent or independent living and potential employment for some. I have students who want to be employed at a local fast food restaurant or store. All of my students are on IEPs and the opportunity for hands on learning activities encourages more participation and growth.
Help me provide individual work boxes with play money and access to financial literacy curriculum to my special needs students to build skills for post secondary living!
Many of my students have IEP goals focused on money skills related to counting a variety of coins and bills and determining change back. My goal is to have my students be active members of their households, communities, and the workforce. Creating these work boxes with the help of donations will support individual skills building and build confidence!
