Help me give my students a working electric pencil sharpener, plastic storage bins for storing clay projects, and safe carving tools for supporting success with ceramics in the art room.
My students, being inquisitive, intelligent, and kind, have learned to think like artists and investigators. I call them my Art Detectives and I focus on helping them reach the fullest of their potential. My students really enjoy learning about science and nature through art and enjoy projects that are immersive and hands-on.
I want to provide my students with learning experiences to help support their development into becoming the creative, empathetic, and collaborative leaders of tomorrow.
This is why I aim to teach art units that help students use creativity to make connections with their learning to their lives. I am hoping to inspire and empower my student artists to become self-regulated humans and creative problem-solvers that have a positive outlook.
My students are creative, intelligent, kind, and compassionate children who are faced with several challenges. To make the most of our weekly 45 minutes together, it is critical that students make the transition into the art room with brains that are ready to learn, regardless of what is going on in their lives.
My Project
My students enjoy working with their hands. Clay is exciting for students to work with and engages them in a unique way. Hand building with clay allows students to create an object beyond the usual two-dimensional art projects. My students are ready to create clay projects, but we need plastic storage bins in order to create projects that take longer than a single art class. These bins will store projects to keep them moist between the once a week art classes. Students also need safe hand-building tools and a pencil sharpener so pencils can be at the ready for planning the project.
With these materials, students will be able to engage in project-based learning by creating three-dimensional sculptures!
We have a new, beautiful, and bright art room with a separate kiln/ storage room. Please help me give my students these requested materials so they can take their creative ideas to the next level by using their hands to create in 3-D.
