My Students

My third grade bunch is the absolute best! They love learning and they make teaching an absolute breeze! I teach at a Title I school where every student receives free lunch and breakfast. SES is made up of predominantly African-American and Hispanic students. The majority of the students come from poverty stricken and low-income homes.

The connections that they are able to make when given the opportunity and proper materials are mind blowing!

That's why this project is so important. The scholars that I get to teach each and every day are so worth it!!

My Project

The materials that I plan to use for this project are the TIME magazine subscriptions. These subscriptions will help in aiding my students in being exposed to concepts and ideas that they normally wouldn't be. The articles are in depth and captivating! My kids wouldn't even know they were learning due to the interesting topics.

How exciting it would be to see students taking the End of Grade testing with limited stress and anxiety due to all they were exposed to within the 4 walls of our classroom throughout the school year!

I plan to use the materials during guided reading to help in providing background knowledge of things that my students wouldn't have access to. Along with the printed materials, there will be online resources that I will be able to incorporate in the classroom for understanding of difficult concepts!
