I have curious, energetic, creative, inspiring, and eager-to-learn kindergarten students in my classroom each year. I lead an organized, focused and differentiated learning environment with access to materials that address each need among various subject disciplines.
At the end of each year, and continuously throughout their educational journey, I want my students to be confident learners, seekers of knowledge and great citizens for our school, their families and the community around us.
I work diligently for each student to be challenged daily and be the best that they can be, where he or she is at, in their kindergarten journey and beyond.
I have eighteen full-time kindergarten students and eight additional developmental students that "push-in" for fifty percent of the day in the school year 2018-2019.
They all arrive with a variety of interests, talents, backgrounds and specific emotional and physical needs. All my students need fluid transitions, a prepared, print-rich, and organized environment, sensory breaks and consistent encouragement to keep them focused and ready for each task ahead. My school is an amazing family of strong leaders and teachers, support staff, parents, and community members.
My Project
These supplies will be used for our daily math rotation centers. We have a set of the vocabulary rods and they were a bit hit with the students. They were sorting and discussing their choices together. It was great to see them so engaged! I love how these rods have math vocabulary words that we need to secure, and can be used in many Kagan activities to form partners and groups! This project also includes magnetic tins that cover hands-on practice and standards such as shape identification, simple addition, number sequencing and so much more.
These supplies will help develop skills in recognizing and identifying shapes, numbers, sorting skills and overall appreciation of math concepts.
I know these materials are highly durable and can be used for many years with my early education students. It is exactly what kindergarten children need with the great visuals, kinesthetic/hands-on learning, real-life examples and also fits perfectly with our daily objectives!
