Help me give my students new Chromebooks to help them learn colors, shapes, letters, and numbers while learning how to use a computer to be successful in the 21st-century learning environment.
I teach two pre-kindergarten classes, serving a total of 39 3-5 year olds from a small rural community. They are a group of energetic students who love school. They come in every day eager to learn. They are a kind and caring group of children. They love using their imaginations in dramatic play activities and enjoy playing with friends. They learn the best through hands-on activities. They enjoy interacting with our Promethean Board to learn colors, shapes, letters, letter sounds, rhyming, numbers, addition, subtraction, etc. They are an amazing group of students!
My Project
My students love learning through technology. They enjoy interacting with our Promethean Board during large group instruction, and it helps hold their interest. Chromebooks would allow them to be able to enjoy some of those same activities on their own and complete each activity at their own level and pace of instruction. Chromebooks would help them learn the skills needed to master the Illinois state learning standards while giving individualized instruction to both auditory and visual learners. They will also be learning computer skills that they will need to be successful in the 21st-century learning environment. This project will help prepare them for the future.
