This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach at a Title I school in San Diego where all one thousand plus students receive free breakfast and lunch. My students are fun loving kids who strive to do their best and make a change to better their lives! All of my students are from a low, socioeconomic neighborhood and many with parents who work two jobs to support their children.

However, my school holds our students to rigorous standards as we know that they are fully competent to reach them with the correct scaffolds, supports, and accommodations.

My goal is to improve the academic status of each child that enters my room!

My Project

My students need up-to-date technology while they are at school. It is the only time many of them have exposure to it. Students need to know how to operate and navigate current technology to be successful in life.

A new Apple Mac mini computer would give them such an opportunity to be exposed to current and up-to-date technology!

Students also benefit from the assisted technology available to them (assisted writing, assisted reading, etc). We currently use a myriad of online applications to enhance student learning yet we are sometimes limited due to slow and old technology. A new computer would give them further access to utilizes these scaffolds, further enhancing their abilities. Current technology is something my students lack putting them at a disadvantage. Please help change that!
