Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We live by our school's motto, “Where Students and Technology Shine”. All facilities, programs and technologies are designed to meet the school vision:
Increase Student Achievement
Reduce Student Drop-Out Rate
Prepare Students for Higher Education, Their Place in Society and to be Productive Citizens.
In our school 97% of our students live with generational poverty and 61% of the student population are classified as "At Risk" students. Our students enjoy working with technology and are proficient in may programs and apps. We hope to add new technology to the band classrooms so that students can streamline the learning-feedback cycle. Our students cannot wait explore all the things technology and music have to offer.
My Project
Apple TV will allow the current technology we have to be accessible to all students in the classroom. Our goal is to use various learning based apps and websites in a broad setting. These programs will help our young musicians see and hear music examples in a tangible way and make learning music more fun! We can use tuner apps to train students how to play their instruments in tune individually and in groups. Apple TV will allow us to use music composition software to show students how to mark music in a way that is consistent for every student. Apple TV's mirroring abilities will improve the technology used in our classroom everyday!
