Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Everyday before I teach a lesson, I must run up and make transparencies to teach my lesson. Not only do I spend valuable time doing this, but I am also using many transparencies which are not good for our environment! With a document camera, there would be no wasted time or transparencies!

I have 22 eager first grade students!

Five of the students wear glasses. All of the students at our school participate in our free breakfast and lunch program. Most students are learning English as a second language. My students are excited to learn, but do not have many educational resources or opportunities outside my classroom.

My Project

The document camera will be used for students to view online videos as well as books that explain what bullying is and how it affects everyone. We will also be able to visit websites that are designed to teach young children about character education. Most importantly, they will be able to see the material being taught!

The Bullying in Schools book and other anti-bullying books will be excellent resources that I will use for teaching about bullies.

These books will provide my students with tools and skills to deal with bullying. Having the document camera will also help so that I can share the books, the students writing, and follow-up activities with the entire class.
