My Students
My students are the most underfunded in the city of Boston. They have the top scores so the city spends its funds elsewhere. The trouble is, my students still need assistance. With your help, the ELMO will give them cutting edge technological assistance.
My students come from all over Boston.
They are of every race, creed, religion, and neighborhood. They all have one trait in common: intelligence. They all test to get into our school (most cities call such schools magnets). It's a public school so tuition is not an obstacle. Sadly, as noted above, funding can be an obstacle.
My Project
The ELMO will allow students to project the work they do at home or at their desk up onto the wall or whiteboard. The ELMO is better than the old overhead projectors because it does not use the transparent films. It projects real paper, notes, textbooks, you name it. The image is clear and HUGE. All students like to see their work on display. With the ELMO, I shall be able to display all of my students' work.
A few years ago Donor's Choose funded a whiteboard for my classroom.
My students loved it because I could project power point slides on the wall and they could write on the projections. Now with the ELMO I will be able to project their own work on the whiteboard. I am sure that their enthusiasm for parsing a Latin sentence will increase.
