This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach Life Science to 7th-grade scientists and support Gifted Advanced Learners from K-8 at a Baltimore City Public School. Our students come from all over the city, so they have diverse life experiences and a range of skills.
The classes I teach are designed to challenge students academically, prepare for success in high school, and be college and career ready.
Students will present at a Science Fair, read about current science news, expand their vocabulary, practice math problems, and perform lab investigations and experiments in the classroom.
My Project
Printing materials is important for our students to practice reading comprehension skills like marking up the text. Paper and ink resources are always limited, so I would like to invest in a printer and ink for our classroom to print research that students will use for their science fair projects.
Our students will add 4 Chromebooks to our existing 8 Chromebooks and bring our student to technology ratio from 3:1 to 2:1!
This means smaller groups using more computers to work on their Science Fair Projects and what interests them. The power strips will protect the computers and allow me to charge them all at once.
The document camera will be used in the classroom to project demonstrations performed by the teacher to the class, as well as to highlight written materials from primary sources for the students.
