Modeling Molecules: Making Connections to Understand Organic Chemistry

Help me give my students a great way to model and visualize how molecules form and combine to make life happen.

FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Lunney's classroom raised $487

My Project

Biology is actually applied chemistry, so understanding the shape, structure, and organization of atoms and molecules is critical to success for students. Unfortunately, students can't directly see those individual atoms and molecules, so it can be challenging for them to learn and describe what they are.

These modeling kits will allow an entire class to build and manipulate organic structures, so the students get a great conceptual understanding of how the chemistry of life actually fits together.

Combining the learning from these modeling kits with other lessons, students will be able to connect the chemistry within the cell to the living organisms they see in their everyday lives.

These kits will give North students the tools to be successful in their biology classes.
