it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Modeled fluency builds reading comprehension! My reading intervention students are below grade level readers that benefit from any form of modeled reading to increase their oral reading fluency and build their reading comprehension.
My reading intervention students are below grade level readers in 7th and 8th grade.
They have been identified through AIMSweb to receive additional support in reading, such as strategies and multiple modes of modeled reading to improve their fluency and comprehension.
My Project
Current reading research says that increasing reading fluency builds reading comprehension. Providing my students with audio books, to model good and accurate fluency, will help improve their fluency, build their comprehension and give them an 80% chance of passing their standardized assessments.
Providing my students with another form of modeled fluency, exposure to quality literature and the opportunity to meet their fluency and comprehension goals will contribute to our school improving reading test scores.
