"Tell me and I forget, Show me and I may remember, Let me do myself, and I will learn forever." This is a quote I often hear from my students. Having physical models to represent concepts we are covering in class will cement learning!
My students are the best and brightest in the county!
By taking the higher level sciences, these students challenge themselves to reach higher. But with limited resources, they are often forced to "hear" the lecture instead of performing hands on activities. They deserve the opportunity to reach their potential.
My Project
Having these molecular models and other three-dimensional manipulatives, students will see the vivid details come to life and learning will occur on a deeper, more meaningful manner. Students will process the information learned in the lecture by making models of the molecules, by untwisting the DNA double helix, and by removing the organelles of the two types of cells and replacing them.
This project is vital to my classroom setting!
Students in chemistry, biology and advanced biology will benefit tremendously from this worthwhile project because learning style inventories have proven that the majority of them learn best kinesthetically. Thank you in advance for donating to this worthwhile project!
