it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The use of T-Square ruler is almost a daily activity in my classroom, especially in the Engineering class. Using a T-square ruler, students learn how to draw son line for our design project, creating a the model house for their presentation in engineering class. Students practice how to design windows, doors, made design of some walls for practice and them use the foam board for their final design. The T-ruler allows me to see exactly what they are doing and how they place the ruler to make the design they are envisioning. After they learn to use the T-ruler they will have the opportunity to show and share their work with their peer. What becomes a problem is that we do not have enough rulers to give every student one to use and to practice their creativity.
When student know what they really want to design they become so motivated and so creative in our engineering class.
Students know that they must create some work that put them to give all his power in the creation and design of his or her house project. Even though they are great about doing this, it is distracting for many of my students who have focusing issues or they are hungry for the long hours they some time need to spend in the project and they miss important instruction form either myself or other students. By having some snacks to provide them, students will be able to avoid all of these problems and focus on increasing their learning and be more creative in what their project will be. I love doing this project, because student can empower their own learning, this make my students so special about other subject .
