This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

These are some of the most passionate and eager to learn students I have ever had! My students are my school children and I want to give them every possible material to help them be successful. They deserve it and they deserve the opportunity to experience school and education with a hands on, project based approach where a copy To Kill a Mockingbird is the least of their worries. My goal is to have this generation of students fall in love with literature all over again and I need the help of Scout, Atticus and Boo to make this dream a reality for them!

My Project

I want to show my students not only how much they mean to me but how much their education means to me. I want them to be excited about learning and what comes along with it. For many, they know the deficit we have when it comes to providing materials, especially books, for every student so that we as teachers can A) maximize the classroom time and B) give them the opportunity to connect with text outside of the classroom setting. I want to provide them with the opportunity to fall in love with To Kill a Mockingbird as much as I have and teach them the rich history and lessons that come along with the story. To Kill a Mockingbird is a classic that no kid should miss out on!
