Mock Grocery Store and Sensory Needs

My Project

With your support, I hope to create a mock grocery store to allow my students to practice their independent living skills in more structured environments. I have many of the empty boxes and food containers where they can practice reading nutrition labels and sorting, but I have no space to put it and have it displayed only when needed. With the metal storage cabinet, I plan to finally make a home and functional learning space for students to develop their skills.

I hope to be inclusive for my students who do not always get to go into the community and create more engaging and functional activities for all.

Keeping the classroom in mind, I also have several students who have particular sensory needs requiring more supplies to make them more comfortable in the classroom. Again, I want to be inclusive to all so they can each thrive and grow to be as independent as possible.
