My Project

I am implementing research-based best practices in my classroom which are described in the book Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics by Peter Liljedahl. Students will work at vertical non-permanent surfaces during Math class which will increase their engagement and peer to peer discourse as well as will allow their thinking to be made visible, giving me more of an opportunity to assess their understanding and provide them immediate feedback throughout each lesson. This will ensure that they continue to make gains in the on-grade level common core Math content standards.
