This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The thing I love most about my students is their wit and humor. There is a sense of joy that makes our classroom special, and the students love to learn! They surprise themselves when they see their own potential and make strides. I love observing this! I also love how they are a diverse group.

With a school population of 15% of students in temporary housing, 37% as English language learners, and 40% having disabilities, I am determined to ensure the best possible experiences for my students.

My Project

During a time when we must navigate the effects of Covid-19 and the impact it has had on learning, it is important for me to be able to move around the classroom quickly and effortlessly. A magnetic mobile whiteboard and other supplies will allow me unparalleled flexibility to do just that.

During these unprecedented times, I think it is safe to say that flexibility is key in meeting students' needs.

With students being widely spread apart due to social distancing guidelines, this whiteboard will allow me to provide students 1:1 support at their seats. In addition, it will allow for whole group instruction to be accessed from anywhere in the classroom. Furthermore, on days of live, at-home instruction, this whiteboard affords me the opportunity to navigate the classroom with ease. It will allow for effortless travel from center to center and provide quick access to manipulatives and other tools needed for visual support.

Your generous donation will help me meet the needs of my students by allowing me to adapt my teaching to their new academic norm.
