My students attend an inner city school where technology is not always readily available. We are fortunate enough to have a ELMO document camera and projector, but we do not have a media cart to aid clearly projecting the images. We also need the speakers so that we can hear valuable video/audio.
My students are sixth graders who attend an inner city elementary school.
They are hard-working, motivated, and determined to continue to make growth and progress. They are helpful and giving, eager to learn, and responsible. My students deserve to have the tools to aid in them in their success!
My Project
My students need a mobile cart, speakers and an extention cable. Have you ever been the short kid in the back of the class who had a difficult time seeing what was going on in the front of the classroom? I was! Fortunately, today's technology allows lessons to be bigger and brighter! We use an ELMO document camera and projector to view sample problems, student exemplars, movies and videos, PowerPoints, and more! The trouble is, we do not currently have a media cart to support this technology. A media cart and speakers would enable us to put the document camera and project in one place that would be the correct height for displaying information. The media cart also comes with a locked cabinet where we can safely store other technology (laptops, iPads, etc.) when we obtain them and when necessary! This spacious media cart provides a stationary place for our materials, while also allowing space for me to teach from the cart! As our classroom is small, having the document camera and projector on wheels allows us to make the most of our space!

The freedom to easily move our technology around the room allows for my students to work wherever in the room makes them comfortable! Students will also now be able to hear information that is being presented. The cord will allow us to connect all of our devices at once and easily switch between them, saving valuable classroom time.
