My Project
After serving in a district leadership role in media and marketing, I’ve made the decision to return to the classroom—specifically, to the space that helped shape who I am. I'm stepping away because I know what happens when young people are given the tools to express themselves, tell their stories, and create without limits.
I'm returning to teach Audio/Video Technology & Film at the high school where I once stood as a student.
In this space, I see students who feel overlooked in traditional settings come alive. For many of them, my class is more than an elective—it's a creative escape, a safe space, and sometimes the only place they feel seen. They pour their hearts into capturing school events, producing news broadcasts, supporting the yearbook, and generating content for social media that reflects the pulse of our school community. They are the storytellers behind the scenes, making sure every moment counts.
But here’s the reality: their talent and passion far exceed the capabilities of the tools we currently have.
With your support, we can equip these students with the gear they need to produce high-quality content that matches the depth and heart of their ideas. We’re asking for mobile lavalier microphones to capture crisp, clear audio; stabilizing gimbals to create smooth, dynamic video footage; and a high-quality DSLR camera to elevate our photography and sideline coverage.
This project is about equity and making sure creative students don’t get left behind because of budget limitations. It’s about providing access to tools so their work can shine as brightly as their ideas.
It’s about honoring their voices.
