This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The Kindergarten students I work with love to read books by Mo Willems. We will celebrate our love of reading on Valentine's Day by reading "We are in a Book" by Mo Willems. We will then use the fidget pop tubes to segment words during our literacy block. The other book I have selected will be a gift to each of them. The gift will give my students 4 different Piggie and Gerald titles to read at home in order to encourage reading at home and at school.

By giving my students these books, I hope to provide quality children's literature for them to read at home when they may not have that option without it.

I am confident this celebration of our love of Mo Willems and reading will show students that reading is fun, entertaining, and exciting!
