My students need a year long subscription to Flocabulary + Florescent Light Covers to promote tranquil learning.

I teach at an inner city, low-income school in Indianapolis. A full 100% of the students at my school receive free lunch. My 28 fourth graders come to school with differing needs and backgrounds, but they are all willing and ready to learn and grow.
Although most of my students come to school without daily necessities, I believe it is my duty to provide them with a safe and comfortable environment where they can do their best each and every day.
My students are tremendously hardworking and strive to grow, create, and learn!
As an educator, I am always looking for fun and engaging ways to reach my scholars wherever they are at. This not only affects the subject matter that I teach, but the way that I engage my scholars, and the way they interact with fellow classmates.
Often times this means juggling two major struggles: getting scholars in a learning mindset, and teaching subject matter in an engaging way.
Many scholars come into school in a negative mindset. Something happened at home, they are hungry, something happened on the bus, whatever the case may be, learning is the farthest thing from being their focus. Flocabulary is a key tool in engaging learners upfront. The songs and music grab their attention, and they are "tricked" into loving ELA and Math topics! This is so exciting as an educator.
The light covers will help with the other struggle to engage my scholars. Our florescent lights do not aide in the calmness that I try to give off in my classroom. These light covers will help in my quest to ensure our classroom feels calm and safe, so scholars can start their days successfully.
These materials are key in the way we start our day, introduce subject matter, and reinforce positive behavior.
