it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I would like to start my school year by teaching all my students about color mixing, especially when we are hooked on our devices due to the pandemic. I intend on having students use the LED color film during their STEAM time to learn about the primary colors used in our devices. Usually, all students learn about primary colors during art class, but they are unaware of how colors are mixed when using a printer with RGB (Red, Green & Blue).
Making students aware of how technology works as they use LED lights to create subtractive and additive colors.
This activity helps students understand the concept in a transparent hands-on approach. I intend to make small stands with big bulldog clips and a popsicle stick to hold the coin batteries and mix the LED lights onto white paper. I also plan on using this activity as a Social and Emotional way of expressing how colors can be used to share their feelings. This will spark their interest and imagination for writing a story about their feelings and what they have learned about creating colors.
