My Students

I teach in Richmond, Virginia at a Title 1 school. My students love to learn and are always excited to see what we will be doing next. I want to ensure that my students have a myriad of books to read, interactive, and engaging activities, and for my students to be comfortable and feel at home in their classroom. Being that many of my students are from low-income households, when they are in the classroom I want them to be able to have experiences that they may be unable to have at home.

My Project

This is my second year teaching, but first year actually teaching in the building. The materials selected will help create a learning environment where students feel safe, confident, and independent. The flexible seating allows students to choose a location they would like to sit during independent work time. The manipulatives gives students the opportunity to learn through play, while developing fine motor skills, cognitive thinking and social skills.

Having flexible seating, manipulatives and supplies will contribute to the success of a great first year and wonderful learning experience for students.
