Many of my students are on free and reduced-price lunch and come from low-income households where educational resources are very limited. The love that they have towards school and learning at such a young age amazes me. Such love gives me the drive I need to be the best teacher for them and provide them with whatever they need to succeed.
My students walk into the classroom every day full of life, excited to learn and eager to see what is in store for them each day.
However, despite the challenges they face at home, they always enter school with smiling faces and ready minds.
My Project
My young students will use the napword sight word cards to learn their sight words in an engaging way. The sight word cards offer picture support, motion and language support that will help my young readers to be able to identify their sight words quickly. Students will use the snap word builders to build and spell words. The Junior Learning CVC word building cards will allow me to differentiate for those students who need more assistance with learning how to build words.
My students love being involved in fun station activities.
The spinners will be used during our math station times for games and activities that require them. My students love using pencils and paper clips as spinners, however, it can be difficult to make an accurate spin. The spinners will allow for my students to become more hands free and use their pencils for what they were made for which is writing.
