This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Every year my school hosts a Mission Possible Event for the community to spread awareness about Plastic Pollution. Mission Possible Community Event gives students an opportunity to display their projects and share what they have learned with the public. Students, their families, and friends are welcome to attend this event for free.
I would love to boost student motivation, participation, and enthusiasm to volunteer at the Mission Possible Event by offering a Grand Prize Raffle for an Inflatable Stand-Up Paddle Board for the students who volunteer.
Each subject area in each grade participated in an interdisciplinary projected-based learning opportunity that is part of the school-wide question: How can we help save our oceans and protect our coastal backyard?
Students have the chance to volunteer at the booths and interact with the public to educate them on ocean plastic pollution. They will be playing trivia with visitors, playing games, explaining projects, and more.
