My Students
Our students are in an inner-city school as well as a Title I school in Miami, Fl, where 95% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. The majority of my students are faced with socioeconomic challenges, which hinder their self-esteem. Despite the hardships, our students come every day ready, excited and eager to learn. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful one day. Although they face many struggles daily, I am hoping to keep conditions as normal and accessible as possible to provide my students with opportunities to create life-lasting, meaningful learning experiences. My students are active, energetic, and excited to learn!
My Project
An outdoor classroom is the perfect place for energetic learners. I am requesting student planners and outdoor supplies to use as math manipulatives. By helping this project, each and every 3rd grade student will receive their very own student planner, where they can write down their homework and important school dates and events.
By creating an outdoor learning environment so many achievement gaps will be closed.
The outdoor classroom will be FUN, VIBRANT, and full of INNOVATIVE math strategies. Students will utilize giant traditional games to learn ways of solving addition, subtraction, and multiplication problems. It's a WIN-WIN for everyone involved!
