My Project
As a library media specialist at a STEM-based library, I witness the powerful intersection of technology and learning every day. My students' faces beam with curiosity when they discover new technology in our space, and their enthusiasm for drones has inspired this innovative project. Our library serves as the hub of STEM exploration for our school, where students from every grade level come to tinker, discover, and grow their understanding of emerging technologies.
Each resource in this project has been strategically chosen to enhance our library's STEM learning center.
The Contixo Mini Light Up Drone will serve as our centerpiece demonstration tool during library STEM lessons, allowing students to witness real-world applications of physics and engineering principles. The various Flying Orb Balls will create hands-on stations where students can practice drone control skills during their library visits, making complex concepts accessible and engaging. Our "Discover Drones" book will provide crucial background knowledge, supporting both independent research and guided instruction.
My goals for this project are to:
Transform our library into an interactive STEM laboratory where students explore drone technology
Create a drone technology center that teachers can utilize for cross-curricular STEM integration
Develop weekly drone challenges that encourage problem-solving and critical thinking
Build a resource collection that supports both structured lessons and independent exploration
Inspire future innovators through hands-on experience with emerging technology
These drone materials will further enhance our STEM-focused environment, providing students with hands-on experiences that bridge the gap between reading about technology and actively engaging with it. By adding these resources to our library, we'll create even more opportunities for students to develop the skills they need for future success in STEM fields.
