I want my students to develop a passion for learning that goes past 5th grade or Math and Science, and throughout a lifetime.
Our classroom is full of amazing potential, and some of the best lessons we engage in relate to understanding who we are as learners. My students support each other through learning and life struggles and celebrate together in personal growth.
My Project
In today's world there is so much to be learned and observed through Science. Science is way more than a textbook and worksheets. Science is literally the entire world we live in.
Research shows that students learn better and hold onto more information when they see real world examples and learn by doing.
Students need not only to read about Science, but to experience it.
In our request for a hydroponic system we will be able to turn an everyday fish tank into a garden. The students will be able to witness and observe the symbiotic relationships between plants and animals in our ecosystem in their very own classroom. They will be able to make connections about how fish excrete fertilizer that is necessary to plant life and how plants clean the environment and provide oxygen to the fish in an average fish aquarium.
