My students need a new pencil sharpener! Our classroom has sharpened their skills through two this year alone. Now my students waiste precious time going to another area within our school to sharpen their precious tool. Can anyone help we will write a thankyou note back with our newly sharpened pencils?

My third grade classroom is in a low-income community. Our inclusive classroom includes several students with special needs and English language learners.

My students love constantly writing all day! However, our second pencil sharpener of the year broke and now my students must leave the classroom to use a sharpener in another area of the school. Imagine having a great idea, sitting down to put it on paper, realizing you first must walk through the hall to find another sharpener. By the time you return to your seat, your bright ideas has slipped away from your mind and that perfect answer, solution, or word is no longer in your head. If we had another sharpener in our classroom, precious time and thought would not be lost as our students left the room to sharpen their pencils.

We are requesting two pencil sharpeners, so the next time our students will always have the opportunity to sharpen their pencils without wandering the school. As great students, ours students sometimes make mistakes and we can use a giant supply of erasers to correct our work!
