This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The items that I am looking for funding for will help our class maintain a calm and safe environment. We are looking for new strategies to help calm behaviors and enhance communication.

My students are nonverbal and have autism-they want to be a kid just like everyone else.

They just think and regulate a little differently. Our classroom needs ways to cope and regulate our bodies so we can help them learn the foundational skills for the rest of their lives.

With new students coming into the class next year, we need new materials such as a light table and a saucer chair for a fresh start. I have had the same class for four years now and we are getting some fresh and young faces.
