Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My classroom is a 6:1:1 classroom setting, serving middle school students on the Autism spectrum. The list of supplies I request will not only serve the best interest of my students academically, but also hygienically. Supplies such as storage bins and index cards will help my students reach their IEP goals related to acquisition of language skills, in an organized and functional way.

Believe it or not, my classroom doesn’t have a smart board!

A smart board is beneficial to my students who have a range of learning styles, and visual/auditory supports are highly effective with learners with language deficits. It will aid in having morning meeting, ELA group activities, and more. Toys are essential for peer to peer interaction, which is a common deficit in learners in the Spectrum.

Students learn Activities of daily living such as cleaning, sorting, and helping others to become more independent and dependable members of our classroom community. Cleaning supplies are essential to stock up on as we go through them very quickly to ensure a safe, clean classroom for all students.
