Miss Julie's Beginning of the Year Classroom Set Up
My students need 1 Teaching Easel, 7 Paint Aprons, 1 Pop and Match Ending Sounds Game, 1 Teacher Plan Book,1 set of Lakeshore Hand Pointer, 1 Alphabet Train, and 1 printer.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a first year teacher in a Deaf Ed (Auditory/Oral Classroom). I want to support my students learning in order to help them reach grade level. With their hearing impairment they need more support, specifically in reading, writing, and phonics.
I work at a public school in Brooklyn.
All my students have hearing impairments and need a lot of individual support to aid them in learning. I am one of the two Auditory Oral Classroom Teachers at my school and the support of these resources would be very beneficial to me and the students learning.
My Project
My students will use the aprons when making arts and crafts to support their learning. The bins will hold our books in our classroom library that will support my students reading skills. I will use the easel to help teach shared reading by helping the students engage in the lesson as they can more easily see the reading on the easel. The planning book will help me visually see what I have planned for the week to teach my students. The word game will support my students in their word work, sounding out words, and phonemic awareness. The printer and laminator will help me in preserving and making materials for my lessons to help my students in learning through visuals. The rest of the materials will support my teaching even more and my students learning.
This project will help me develop my classroom for my first year.
It will support me in teaching my students and helping them progress their learning and increase their knowledge. With all these supplies I will be able to give my students a great experience as a first year teacher.
