My Students
My students are resilient, kind, young adults at a Title I school. Many of them struggled immensely last year during distance learning. The struggle continues this year as we try to build back some of the academic stamina and social-emotional skills that students need to feel confident, safe, and supported at school.
Our students have been out of the practice of reading for pleasure for some time, and it is crucial to provide them with reading opportunities that excite them and reflect their varied interests and backgrounds.
It is my hope that providing them with more independent reading choices and new, exciting young adult titles will rekindle the joy to be found in reading.
My Project
My students have been amazing readers and have so enjoyed all of the new and diverse literature in our classroom library.
We need tools to help us keep track of our amazing reading progress, care for all of our classroom books, share our favorite new novels, and advertise new additions to our library.
The tools in this project will help us to do just that! We want our library to feel like a vibrant, welcoming place, and we want our new books that we've procured to stay in good condition for our students for many years to come.
