This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students have big hearts and are enthusiastic learners. They always walk into the library ready to listen, learn, and actively participate in storytime, lessons, and Makerspace activities.
Many of my students come from struggling and stressful home lives, but always have a smile on their faces at school.
These children are the future of the world and our school strives to give our students every opportunity to succeed.

My Project
A mirror is a story that reflects your own culture and helps you build your identity. A window is a story that offers you a view of someone else’s experience. Students cannot truly learn about themselves unless they learn about others as well.
All children need to see themselves reflected in storytime adventures and see others who are different from them represented with equal importance.
Imagine a world in which all children can see themselves in the pages of a book. These books from Mahogany Books will be wonderful additions to our library!
