This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Self-portraits allow you to discover yourself. However, lacking appropriate art tools, such as freestanding mirrors, my students cannot create self-portraits and exercise their full artistic potential.

My student artists have the unique opportunity to creatively express themselves through the visual arts every week!

As the Teaching Artist, I inspire and guide them on this artistic journey through thematic, comprehensive art curriculum. My budget allows me to provide for only so much art materials and tools in order for them to create their masterpieces, though.

My Project

Taking the time to observe yourself brings about self-awareness. With the use of freestanding acrylic mirrors, my student artists will be able to create a self-portrait of their likeness and further explore a sense of identity through varying mediums. Providing each of my student artists with kid-safety mirrors allows them to further observe themselves.

My student artists and I thank you in advance for your commitment to public school arts education!

By supporting this project, my kindergarten through middle school students will all benefit this year and for years to come. Hooray to creating self-portrait masterpieces!
