My Project

Phonics skills are essential for kids to become readers! The items I have chosen for my cart are meant to be used during both small group and whole group instruction to build students' phonics skills.

The hand held mirrors are used for students to mimic the teacher mouth when producing sounds.

Many students have a hard time producing certain sounds because they are unaware of what the different parts of their mouths are doing. The mirrors will help them to see what their lips and tongue are doing in order to make sounds.

The magnetic chips and wand are to be used in small group instruction. They will sound out words and use the chips to represent the sound. As they become proficient in this they will replace the chips with letters.
