My Students
I feel honored to say that I have been teaching at the same school for 19 years. My school is an inner city school in a lower class neighborhood and it is truly AMAZING. The majority of my students are Chinese. Some of my students are learning English and classes like Reading and Writing are a challenge, but creating art is something they can do without speaking English.
My students are the best!
I have taught many grades at my school but now I am lucky enough to teach art to around 750 students each week. I love teaching art and they love being artists.
My Project
Every year my students complete self-portraits. Having mirrors for these projects would be life changing. With mirrors students will be able to really focus on the exact details of their face. Their self-portraits will look much more realistic when the are finished.
Teaching this project with mirrors would be so amazing because students could really see their features.
I imagine that the finished project will be something parents will want to display in their homes for years.
With mirrors, students will gain a knowledge of self-portraits in a way that they never have before. Please help me perfect my self-portrait unit!
