Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The requested books will make a difference in my students learning because my spanish speaking students whom learn in spanish will have books to read in our classroom library.
At the moment there are no spanish books for them available and they just kind of look around at the rest of the kiddos reading library books.
One of my spanish students just sulks and shrugs in her seat and looks at the floor. My goal for this project is for my students to have books available so that they can AR test and gain a more ample vocabulary. My students are special because they are coming from another country and are embracing our culture and American values. The transition is difficult for a child but their strength, hard work and bravery enables them to grow and have an opportunity to the American dream.
