Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am the proud teacher of 25 incredibly amazing kindergarten students. I teach dual language program with an emphasis in Spanish in a school in Los Angeles. My school is located in East Los Angeles, which is a predominantly Hispanic community about five minutes from Downtown Los Angeles. My students come from homes where the parents, for the most part, are undocumented and the others are first-generation children of immigrant parents.

The students I serve to attend a Title 1 school where 100% of the students receive free lunch.

My Project

My kindergarten students would benefit from having these headphones so that they can use it along with the Chromebooks that were lent to them at school, and be able to block out noise distractions at home so that they continue learning. Most of my students live in homes where there are two families sharing a space, and it gets really noisy for them.

The headphones will allow my young students to listen to me the teacher, as I carry out the lessons during distance learning, and block all other noise distractions that they have at home that will impede them from learning.
