Mini Memoirs + Sidewalk Art = End of School Celebration!

Help me give my students a chance to celebrate their middle school career in a memoir project culminating in a chalk art display where each 8th grader will decorate a sidewalk block with a six-word memoir.

My Project

My eighth graders are reaching the end of their middle school career and to celebrate, they are writing Six Word Memoirs to encapsulate their time here in middle school. On top of the end of the school year, we are also marking the end of an era as our school building closes, and we move to a new shiny building across the parking lot.

What better way to celebrate the end of middle school and the closing of our building than a little sidewalk chalk art?

After our students have crafted their six-word memoir, they will be given a chance to decorate a sidewalk block with their memoir and images to match.
