My Students

When I think back to my childhood, I see myself in a desk doing many paper and pencil tasks. Because of our ever-changing world, the children of today are no longer engaged by such simple tasks. As teachers, we must constantly search for new engaging ways to reel our students in.

I teach 48 awesome Kindergarten students who are eager to learn.

I have 24 kids in my am class and 24 in the pm class. We are all excited to be at a school where the staff lives out our motto each day "Every Child...Everyday...Whatever It Takes." To do that, we must all work hard to make every minute of the 2 1/2 hours the kids are in class count.

My Project

I am requesting an Apple iPad Mini, headphones and protective case. With this, we will be able to have small group technology time everyday in class. I have researched the web and found countless math and literacy games for the iPad (most for free!) that I can download onto the iPad for student use. The students will be excited and engaged while using the iPads. They might even forget that they are learning.

With the addition of a small group iPad center, my students will have the hands-on experiences with technology that they need and deserve.

They will be able to review concepts that we have already covered in class, as well as work on new concepts at their own pace. With the iPad the possibilities are endless, there are many amazing apps available that work on important reading skills and math concepts.
