it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Currently, I am reading Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics by Peter Liljedahl, where he focuses on vertical whiteboards in the classroom. This approach opens doors for students to strengthen their thinking. I want to purchase standing whiteboards and create that environment for my students. With the proper dry erase tools, students will be able to collaborate successfully and respectfully with their peers. I envision a space where the whiteboards are at eye level, making it easier for students to engage.
Building a thinking classroom plays a vital role in supporting students' learning by fostering an environment that promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity.
This approach helps students by encouraging inquiry-based learning and allowing them to take ownership of their educational journey. Thinking classrooms empower students to think independently, ask meaningful questions, and approach challenges with confidence. As a result, their learning extends beyond the classroom walls.
