Minds on the Moon!

Help me give my students some great books about a first-hand experience of moon exploration.

My Students

My students are in the third grade this year and they are special because they all need a different level of instruction. Some of my students are reading at a very high level while some are still struggling to be able to read simple text. While our new math program has helped students develop a better number sense many of the students are still struggling while others are progressing nicely.

I am committed to helping each of these wonderful students learn on the level that they are capable of.

Through ability groupings each of the students learn at the level they need. This year my math students excelled with our new Math in Focus program. It made me so happy when my students would say, "Mrs. H, I love math!" My students also learned to love reading when we were able to find books that interested them.

The students in our school come from families of various backgrounds and economic status, but they all want to learn. They love to have differentiated instruction available and individual help if they need it thus helping them to grow and develop into life long learners.

My Project

These books will be used to help the students experience first hand what exploration in space is like. When we start our astronomy unit we will be able to read about the moon landing in first person making it more engaging to the students thus exciting them about learning!

Planets fascinate students and this book will help them understand about moon exploration.

Having a classroom set will enhance the learning of all of my students as we read together or even listen to the CD that comes with the book. Even my lower readers will have access to the curriculum with this choice.
