I have some amazing students with individual needs that require some additional support and attention. They range from autism to Down Syndrome.
My students are a gift to all they come into contact with as they teach everyone a lesson on compassion, perseverance, and love.
I am very fortunate to be able to call them my students. I get the chance to work with them from kindergarten through fifth grade and see them off to middle school. I am blessed.
My Project
I teach a variety of students that have all different needs. What we are seeing more and more in schools is the need for character education. We do teach the basic fundamentals of respect and responsibility, but applying these skills proves to be difficult for many students.
These resources will help the application and higher-order thinking of being in total mindfulness.
By using the scenario cards and the game format, students will be able to have meaningful discussions about what certain feelings and actions mean not only to themselves but to others as well. They will then be able to reflect in the mindfulness journal and be able to look back on goals and topics to see how they are improving.
