Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Having two round tables in the classroom fosters a sense of inclusivity and collaboration, promoting positive social interactions among students. This layout encourages open communication, allowing students to feel more connected and supported by their peers. Group discussions at round tables help reduce feelings of isolation, which can alleviate anxiety and stress. Additionally, this setup creates a more relaxed, less hierarchical environment, fostering a sense of safety and belonging, which is essential for students' mental well-being.
This year, I had students come up to me saying they didn't have breakfast.
Providing snacks in the classroom supports students' physical and mental well-being by boosting energy and focus, especially during long lessons. Snacks can improve concentration, keeping students alert and engaged in learning.
A whiteboard with a cork board offers a versatile tool for both instruction and student participation. While the whiteboard is great for presenting lessons and visual learning, the cork board allows students to showcase their work, post important reminders, or share personal achievements, fostering a sense of ownership and pride.
