My Students
During this time of remote learning, my students have been resilient, doing their very best to complete their work and continue with their education at home. They have persevered and worked so hard, but through conversations with my students and their parents, I know they are having difficulty with not participating in the routines of the school day and are missing socialization with friends.
During this time, more than ever, students need further support in Social Emotional Learning and Mindfulness interventions so they may better navigate this difficult terrain.
My Project
Mindful Schools is a reputable research-based training program for educators. I have already participated in their preliminary course, Mindfulness Fundamentals, and have put so many of their teachings into my instructional practices, relationships with students, and personal mindfulness practice.
Mindful classrooms begin with a mindful teacher.
So much of my life's path consists of training to be a more self-aware individual. As I have cultivated mindfulness into my classroom environment, I have seen such improvements in my students' emotional regulation, their ability to identify shifts in emotions, and a heightened sense of mindful communication through interpersonal relationships and conflict resolution.
During this time of remote learning, my students are having a hard time being out of the classroom and are dearly missing relating to their friends. I feel that this training with deepening the mindful interventions that I utilize with my students, to help them during these difficult transitions and sometimes scary times. Currently and when we return back to the classroom, students are going to need mindfulness more than ever. Please help me receive this beneficial training to further reach my students, so that they may learn resiliency tools to navigate these changing times.
