This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Every year students partake in the making of a large collage that expresses a universal theme. We generally rely on donated magazines and printed material to serve as our main collage material. We currently don’t have a proper organization system for collage material so I am also requesting a storage art to make materials easily accessible.

It would be nice to be able to offer students solid colored card-stock and origami papers so they can incorporate variety into their art.

Students always love this project because they get to really unwind and piece together something abstract and meaningful to them. The physicality of collage making is almost like a therapy for students.
