My students need to start the week off right with their minds relaxed and ready to learn!
My students need an Echo to play relaxation music and fidgets to help calm their minds.
My students at school have such great potential. Many of them lack the skills needed to resolve conflicts. They react with anger at the least of situations. So the bigger the problem, the worst the reaction.
My students can be engaged, ready to learn, and motivated.
But they need more skills needed to cope with their anger. Instead of arguing, bullying or fighting I would like to see them be able to handle disagreements with better ease. Together we can!
My Project
Each Monday classrooms will focus on implementing mindfulness activities for the students. Materials such as adult coloring books will provide focus, essential oil diffused in the classroom will provoke a sense of relaxation and music will play mindfulness exercise. Students will be able to bring their minds to ease during the structured activity.
The benefits of mindfulness in the classroom are decreased stress and psychological distress in students, enhanced mental health and functioning, and increased emotion regulation and self-control.
Through Mindfulness I will be able to create calmness in the classroom and get their mind ready to learn. Our students are so stressed about their personal life that they need to learn to relax and destress.
